Hello, everyone! I hope you enjoyed Murder by Design! It was a labor of love for me that was begun last winter, and not completed until after Memorial Day – so, while I will be writing another mystery, it will not be ready to publish until next summer, I’m afraid.
A big part of the reason for this is that I need to know where Bell is going with the actual show... >
Tonight, BBU will publish the final chapter to the summer’s very successful mini series – Murder by Design. We hope its readers have enjoyed the chapters and are excited to read the conclusion to the story.
However, there is a special treat for the fans of Murder by Design… BBU had a quick chat with the author and asked her the two most asked questions by the readers. Enjoy her responses to those questions:
What inspired you to write Murder by Design? >

Prologue to Chapter Six
Baker leaned over the computer monitor in a futile attempt to block the images from the view of the civilians in the room. One glance at our faces told him we’d seen the video; there was no mistaking the shocked expressions he was seeing.
The camera in Eric’s office had captured the crime: Pam had entered Eric’s office and headed straight for the small conference room... >
Prologue to Chapter Five
When I pulled into the Forrester parking lot, the sun was just coming up over the horizon. I had woken with a start, the shreds of a bad dream clinging to my consciousness. An uneasy feeling, with me from the time I first startled awake, weighed heavily on my mind. In the dream, Stephanie Forrester had been berating me for neglecting something, but try as I might, I could not figure out what it was I was neglecting... >
Prologue to Chapter Four
I got home feeling drained. I briefly considered dinner, then rejected the idea as too much trouble. Instead, I poured myself a drink, and slumped in a chair, not thinking, not planning – just zoned out, occasionally sipping my drink. It had been a long, emotionally exhausting day.
After a while, I sighed, stood, stretched, and headed to my home office to boot up my computer. There was work to do – in all likelihood, boring work – but it had to be done.
I opened the prog... >
Prologue to Chapter Three
Waiting was agony. I paced, sat, paced again – still, the minutes dragged by. A check of my watch told me that not much time had passed since Steffy had been wheeled away – yet it seemed to be an eternity in limbo.
I struggled to control my emotions – fear competed with rage, and both threatened to combine into despair. I remembered a long ago Sunday School lesson; despair, the teacher had said, was the greatest sin, because belief in God was, itself, hope... >
Prologue to Chapter Two
I watched the commotion as the EMTs did their work – Steffy was lifted onto a gurney, an oxygen mask over her beautiful face, IV lines placed in her arms. Their shouted words -BP 170 over 90, pulse thready – were so much mumbo jumbo to me. Thomas was attempting to comfort his unconscious sister with meaningless words of encouragement; Eric was calling Taylor, her mother; Bill was calling Liam, his son – and me? My hands were balled into fists of rage hidden in my pockets... >
